Grin Low - Peak District Walk
Friday 11th April 2014
I have often driven passed Solomon's Temple on the way to other walks and always promised myself I'd visit it one day. I persuaded John to finish early and so we enjoyed a late afternoon stroll around Grin Low followed by a meal and a pint. A perfect way to start the weekend
Start: Grin Low car park (SK 0493 7195)
Route: Grin Low car park - Solomon's Temple - Fern House - Stanley Moor - Solomon's Temple - Grin Low car aprk
Distance: 4.5 miles Ascent: 204 metres Time Taken: 2 hours 40 mins
Terrain: Clear paths
Weather: Warm and sunny
Pub Visited: Wye Bridge Inn, Buxton Ale Drunk: Ruddles Best
A well timed shot as it was very busy up here with plenty
of people heading up and down the tower.
There was a fine view across Buxton to Combs Moss.
Our route took down through Grin Plantation which is showing few signs of spring.
We passed through Fern House, a local stables.
As we head down to the road our route along the track is easy to spot.
As we climbed the track Solomon's Temple came back into view.
We rarely lost sight of it for the rest of the walk.
The track across the moor was hard to miss.
